No May 2-4 weekend is complete without watching fireworks on Victoria Day.

The light display has been a long-standing tradition ever since the Canadian government declared Victoria Day an official holiday in 1845. Since then, the long weekend has become so much more than just a celebration of Queen Victoria’s birthday and her contributions to Canada. It’s also become about celebrating the coming of summer.
