Instead of a full on TTC subway closure this weekend, we have a “delayed opening” which is basically a fancy way of saying you get to sleep in on Sunday if you live on the north-west end of Toronto because the subway isn’t up until noon.

This is of course in addition to the month-long slow down on Line 1 for track maintenance.

While our list of road closures remained fairly restrained this weekend, we have to think that the delayed opening on Line 1 could also be a lot worse.

What better reason do you need to be late to brunch on Sunday then a delayed opening?

Now, here’s exactly what you can expect …

Subway service on Line 1 between Osgoode and Bloor-Yonge stations will start by noon on Sunday due to track work and maintenance.

Shuttle buses will run, stopping outside each station along the route.

All stations within the closure area will remain open for fare sales and transfers to surface routes.

Wheel-Trans will be available upon request from any station within the closure area. Customers can speak with any TTC staff member to request the service.
