It was nice while it lasted. After a weekend of no subway closures, the TTC is bringing back its early nightly closures for two nights this week.

Starting on Wednesday night at 11 p.m. and running until Friday morning at 6 a.m., service between Bloor-Yonge and St. Andrew will stop a few hours earlier than usual.

Here’s what you need to know:

What’s Closed

There will be no subway service on Line 1 between Bloor-Yonge and St. Andrew stations between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. on April 24 and 25 due to the installation of the TTC's new Automatic Train Control signalling system. The closure includes Wellesley, College, Dundas, Queen, King and Union terminals. During the closure, all stations excluding Wellesley station will be open for the sale of fares and connections to surface routes.

How To Navigate The Closure

Shuttle buses will operate along the normal subway route. Buses will stop at all the regular subway station stops, just outside the typical zone. Wheel-Trans service will also be available.

How To Pay

If you’re paying with PRESTO during the subway closure just tap your card when you first board the TTC.

If you are transferring from the subway to a shuttle bus or from a shuttle bus to the subway, don’t tap your PRESTO card again. Unlike normal subway to bus transfers, shuttle buses do not need a second tap.

Cash and token fares will still be accepted on the shuttle bus, which will get you a transfer onto the subway (and vice versa).

Normal service will resume in the mornings at 6 a.m.
