A prime location, safe neighbourhood, and great amenities are must-haves for most homebuyers, but when it comes to those with little ones, living near a good school is a top priority.

So, to make it easier for potential homebuyers to find listings close to schools, the Toronto Real Estate Board (TRREB) has launched a new feature that allows home shoppers to include schools – elementary through high school, public and catholic – in their desired locations when searching for a home.

The feature, which went live on April 1st, allows TRREB Collab users and visitors to the board's public listing site to add school catchment information as a layer while they are searching for new listings while using the map interface.

Under the new feature, when a shopper is looking through the different listings, they can click the school feature on the map and then toggle between public and catholic schools and various grade levels.

When a shopper clicks on a school icon, they'll find the full name, address, grade levels, and board. They'll also be able to see how much listings are going for in that specific neighbourhood.

The ability to seamlessly search for schools and listings is important for families on the move and makes finding a dream home near a good school that much easier.
