Okay, let’s be honest. What everyone wants to know is “What’s the weather going to be like in Toronto for Halloween?” (More on that below.)

But between now and Oct. 31, there’s lots of good weather, plus plenty of exciting TO events depending on it. So let’s get to it.

First, the good news for TFC fans. If you’re going to Saturday’s 6 p.m. playoff soccer game against D.C. United  (and Wayne Rooney in perhaps his final MLS appearance) at BMO field you’re in luck (and good luck to Jozy Altidore and the gang). The Weather Network says it should be about 11 degrees Celsius with only a 20 per cent chance of rain.

In fact, all of Saturday is looking possibly fantastic, despite a “frosty” start at 2 degrees.

"Saturday will be a crisp fall day with early frost, but most of southern Ontario will see abundant sunshine during the day with a period of clouds likely late Saturday night, which will help keep overnight temperatures much milder than Friday night," says Weather Network meteorologist Dr. Doug Gillham.

Again, good news for those heading to Maple Leaf Square outside Scotiabank Arena at 7 p.m. to watch the Leafs lose, er, play their perennial first-round Stanley Cup playoff rivals the Boston Bruins. Perfect weather for standing outside, drinking and cheering on Mitch Marner and John Tavares (oh wait, he’s injured).

Sunday’s weather for the annual Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon (and traffic mayhem until the afteroon) looks “gorgeous,” according to the Weather Network, as temperatures begin to rise, with a forecast high of 17 degrees. That’s good news for the expected 25,000 runners. In fact, temperatures may hit 20 degrees by Monday in some lucky parts of the GTA and southern Ontario. Will it be the last 20 degree day of 2019?

After that balmy Monday a fall storm comes to the Great Lakes region Monday night with widespread rain and strong winds followed by falling temperatures during the day on Tuesday. Right now the daytime high is forecast at 15 degrees with temps falling during the day with some rain possible.

And, if you’re thinking of heading down to Jurassic Park Tuesday evening to celebrate the beloved Raptors’ home opener against the New Orleans Pelicans AND toast the Raps' NBA title last June, dress warmly. Better let Drake know.

Wednesday’s forecast is for brisk and chilly temps with a passing rain shower possible throughout the day.

And now, back to Halloween.

"The final week of October and into early November will bring an extended period of colder than normal weather to the Great Lakes region, including southern Ontario," Gillham adds. "This pattern will bring the potential for lake-effect snow in the snow belt areas before Halloween."

So, if you’re shopping for that Halloween costume this weekend, you might err on the warm and dry side.
