Toronto just got a whole lot prettier.

Details have emerged on renowned international luxury brand St. Regis and its official move to the city, reinvigorating what is billed as Toronto’s tallest condominium/hotel at the corner of Bay and Adelaide, currently operating as The Adelaide Hotel.

In a news conference Sept. 28 to a room full of media, JCF Capital officially launched sales of the iconic project's condominium suites, now dubbed the St. Regis Residences Toronto, and the arrival of a singular, world-class luxury brand to our home and native land.

“(St. Regis was) an iconic luxury brand noticeably absent in Toronto,” says Kate Hay, chief operating officer at JCF Capital.

73 units available

The available inventory on the upper portion of the tower — 73 suites are available for purchase — have been given a majestic makeover, exquisitely designed with finishes of the highest quality to meet St. Regis standards. In an elegant building, originally designed by Toronto’s Zeidler Partnership Architects, the residential units feature coffered ceilings and heated floors in the washrooms among other luxe finishes, with a price range of $1.6 million to $23 million.

Residents can enjoy a saltwater pool and multi-level spa, as well as all-encompassing access to the luxury hotel’s amenities, including room service, the brand’s signature butler service, Afternoon Tea and the Midnight Supper. A must-indulge is the brand’s most famous tipple, the Bloody Mary, which was said to be originally created at St. Regis in the early 1900s.

“This iconic asset is poised to set the new standards for luxury living in downtown Toronto,” says Jay Wolf, president of JCF Capital, adding a $20-million capital investment by the hotel owners will be done to upgrade the hotel's facilities.

As the city’s above-average temperatures broke and gave way to a more seasonal-appropriate sunny day, St. Regis executives intermingled with media from the Toronto Star to Toronto Life, wrapping up the press conference with a VIP tour to show off two of the residence's larger suites.

Marriott-owned luxury brand

The Marriott-owned luxury brand, which operates St. Regis hotels spanning the globe, has been in operation since 1904, renowned for top-quality service, superb design and attention to detail.

Tim Terceira, general manager of The Adelaide Hotel and St. Regis Residences Toronto, says purchasing a residence there means “investing in a lifestyle” where days become less harried and exceedingly convenient.

“It’s like pushing the easy button, but in this case it’s a gold-plated easy button,” he mused to the delight of the crowd.

The 211-suite hotel will experience a relaunch as Canada’s first St. Regis Hotel in early 2019, executives say.
