The spring market continues to heat up for the single-family home segment – it seems Toronto real estate buyers can’t get enough of houses. With 84 sales, activity for detached homes is up for the second week in a row, by 15 per cent year-over-year, and 8 per cent month-over-month. It was a softer week, however, for semi-detached homes, which saw only 24 change hands, marking a -29 per cent year-over-year decline, and down -4 per cent from last month.

It was a very strong week for townhouses, however it’s important to keep in mind that due to the small size of the segment and relatively fewer inventory, swings in sales can be more dramatic; with 31 units sold, that’s up a whopping 210 per cent from February, and 121 per cent from the same period in 2018. The condo segment continues to slow, though, with 118 units sold – down -33 per cent from 2018, and -12 per cent month-over-month.
