The NBA announced it's suspending the season on Wednesday evening after a player from the Utah Jazz tested positive for the coronavirus. In turn, the league is asking the teams the Jazz recently played, which includes the Toronto Raptors, to self-quarantine, according to reports.

According to ESPN‘s Adrian Wojnarowski, Rudy Gobert of the Jazz was tested for the coronavirus ahead Utah’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday and the league was awaiting the results before deciding whether to go ahead with the game.

After learning Gobert tested positive, the league announced it is suspending all upcoming games until further notice.

"The NBA is suspending game play following the conclusion of [Wednesday's] schedule of games until further notice,'' the league said in a statement. "The NBA will use this hiatus to determine next steps for moving forward in regard to the coronavirus pandemic.''

As a precaution, players from teams the Jazz have played within the past 10 days were told to self-quarantine for the next 14 days. Those teams are the Cleveland Cavaliers, New York Knicks, Boston Celtics, Detroit Pistons, and the Toronto Raptors.

The Raptors faced the Jazz in Salt Lake City on Monday evening, where they won 101 to 92.

This news comes after players from the Raptors attended a charity bowling event at The Ballroom in Toronto on Wednesday evening.
