Neighbour Builds Deck Looking Directly into Toronto Woman’s Bedroom

One Toronto household has really taken the cake for being a bad neighbour after building a deck that looks directly into the bedroom of the woman living next door.

Earlier this week, a woman took to the internet to share a glimpse into her living situation and it’s definitely uncomfortable, to say the least.

“My neighbours built a deck that looks directly into my bedroom,” the woman wrote in the r/mildlyinfuriating subreddit on Tuesday, including a photo of her questionable view.

The photo shows two chairs set up on the deck, that’s a brief stone’s throw away from the woman’s bedroom window.

As you could imagine, the post garnered a lot of attention, already receiving over 81,000 upvotes and 3,000 comments on Reddit, with users providing the woman both useful and comical suggestions on how to have the deck removed.

“I work in a field that deals with this type of stuff. I can guarantee that this is not legal,” commented one person, adding the woman should call a city by-law officer or building inspector to look into having the deck removed.

“Horrendous. I’d turn a strobe light on in the window every time they were out there,” wrote one user, while another wrote, “every time they’re out there, sit in your window and watch them with binoculars. Bring popcorn and a flask of coffee.”

“Get a mannequin and have it stare out the window at random times. Move it around. Not every day,” suggested another user.

“Definitely time to upgrade the blinds,” the woman said on Reddit.

While no solution or full understanding of the situation has yet been offered, let’s just hope this is the first step in what will be a much more closed-off completion of said deck.
