“According to sources who are helping with [Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s new home] renovations, the nursery itself is going to be very modern,” royal expert Katie Nicholl told ET Canada. “Don't expect to see any baby pink or baby blue. Apparently, it's going to be a monochrome palette—whites and grays, I'm told, will be the colour theme for baby Sussex's nursery.”

With that in mind, we searched Instagram for the most beautiful modern nurseries fit for a duchess. These might not all have a monochromatic colour scheme, but they sure are stunning ideas for a contemporary nursery.

Why we love it: This nursery is a standout thanks to the pink and white decor pieces paired against the blue-grey walls. We especially love the pop of colour the bed canopy provides, as well as the elegant floral wall art.

2. Beach House Vibes

Why we love it: Wallpaper might seem like an outdated decor tool, but it can add a cool visual element to your nursery when used on one wall. We love the simplicity of this wallpaper design paired with classic, modern furniture in the room.

7. Chic Wall Art

Why we love it: You wouldn’t expect a mix of light and dark colours to actually brighten up a room, but it does. Here, the dark purple accents against the white decor give this nursery a clean, modern look.

9. Two-In-One Nursery

Why we love it: This nursery doubles as a playroom, which is a win for parents everywhere. The coral and teal colour combo is bright, fun and refreshing. And did you notice the wave detail on the wall above the crib? So cute!

10. Dreamy Dark Tones

Why we love it: If you love dark, neutral tones but are afraid it will make your nursery look dreary, fear not! You can still create a dreamy atmosphere by adding light-coloured elements and wall decor. Of course, having a big window in the room also helps!

Bonus: Ceiling Decor
