Crowds of Torontonians swarmed High Park this weekend to catch a glimpse and a picture or two of the iconic cherry blossoms in bloom.

The sakura trees draw thousands of people to the park each spring, and this year was no exception. Photos shared on social media showed huge crowds not only at the park, but also at High Park subway station.


There’s currently a parking ban in High Park, which could explain the subway’s long lineups. But regardless, this shows just how popular Toronto’s sakura trees really are.

The city’s cherry blossoms are currently in peak bloom, and are expected to stick around until May 15.
