No matter where we’re celebrating, the holidays can’t help but remind us of home.

For some, it’s the warm and welcoming spirit of the season. Or the strong sense of tradition.

And for others, it’s the music. Those classic holiday melodies that transport us back to our youth.

Each of these festive qualities are on full display at the annual Good Lovelies’ Christmas concert, with the Juno-winning band spending the month of December bringing their beloved holiday show and new album, Evergreen, to venues across Ontario.

“It’s amazing to see how the community comes out in support of this show,” says band member Caroline Brooks. “And though we shake it up with lots of different material each year, it always feels familiar. Every concert plays like a homecoming.”

After years of touring in support of their recording career, the country-folk trio know a thing or two about the value of home.

“We’ve traversed the globe many times over,” says Brooks. “And though we’ve had to leave our partners and kids behind more often than we’d like, it still feels like a family out on the road together.”

The members of the band, Kerri Ough, Sue Passmore, and Brooks have managed to blend their personal and professional lives with the same measure of harmony that distinguishes their music.  And that geniality is evidenced in their live shows.  The women have a charming between-song banter that only be pulled off by the best of friends.

And while the Good Lovelies have always delivered when performing in support of one of their celebrated records, the Christmas concerts each year have an extra bit of bonhomie.

“There’s just something in the air this time of year,” notes Brooks.  “It’s a collective joy that seems to find voice through these songs, and these special nights that we get to spend together.’

It is indeed a special night, with just a few select seats remaining for the Toronto performance – Tuesday, December 17th at the Danforth Music Hall.  Tickets are available at https://goodlovelies.com/tour-dates/

Good Lovelies will also be supporting Tree Canada through a direct fundraising campaign at the shows.
