In its newest incarnation of an “all-new immersive holiday experience”, WinterFest has maxed out its holiday spirit to epic proportions. Here are 10 exciting facts about the new winter extravaganza.

The nightly tree-lighting ceremony features a 70 foot tall tree coated with over 70,000 ornaments. Just don’t think of the staff that have dismantle this thing!

Wonderland General Manager Norm Pirtovshek called Winterfest the largest capital investment since the opening of Canada’s Wonderland.

There’s a massive ice-skating rink on Snowflake Lake.

Live entertainment changes nightly – so you can catch “A Peanuts Guide to Christmas “ one night and the “Holy Jolly Trolley” on another.

One of the coolest traditional features is its Merry Marionettes with masterful puppeteers.

Candy Cane Lane is the perfect family selfie walkway overflowing with lights, candy props, and holiday-themed décor.

Another wild stroll is the Season of Lights section where international holidays such as Chinese New Year, Diwali, Kwanzaa, and Hanukkah are all celebrated – in addition to Christmas.

An over-the-top Santa’s room with oversized toys, wreaths, garlands, and a fireplace make it the perfect place to visit St. Nick and take a picture with the family.

Join the Polar Party – where everyone wears wireless headphones, yet dances to the same music. Don’t knock it till you try it.

Claus’s kitchen lets kids decorate four of their favourite cookies with every colour of icing and sprinkles imaginable. Photo ops with Mrs. Claus are recommended as they offer you an extra chance of earning a place on the “nice” list.
