Where To Watch Victoria Day Fireworks In Toronto

No May 2-4 weekend is complete without watching fireworks on Victoria Day.

The light display has been a long-standing tradition ever since the Canadian government declared Victoria Day an official holiday in 1845. Since then, the long weekend has become so much more than just a celebration of Queen Victoria’s birthday and her contributions to Canada. It’s also become about celebrating the coming of summer.

So if you’re looking to end your Victoria Day long weekend with a bang, watching fireworks is a must. Surprisingly, there are only two places where you can watch fireworks in Toronto. Read on for all the details.

1. Canada’s Wonderland

When: Sunday, May 19 at 10 p.m.
Cost: Free with park admission ($19.99 for seniors, $39.99 for juniors, $49.99 for adults)

Those heading to Canada’s Wonderland on the long weekend are in for a treat. Included with the admission price on Sunday is a special fireworks display. The 15-minute show includes more than 6,000 colourful explosions, which will be shot from the top of the park’s iconic Wonder Mountain. The show has a “unique, custom-design set to an original soundtrack,” according to Wonderland’s website, so you won’t want to miss it!

2. Ashbridges Bay Park

When: Monday, May 20 at 9:45 p.m.
Cost: Free!

Ashbridges Bay Park has a beloved tradition of shooting fireworks on Victoria Day. This year’s show will have roughly 2,000 fireworks and a spectacular finale that’s sure to impress. But remember to head to the beach early to reserve your spot! Since this is the only place to watch fireworks on the Monday of the long weekend, it’s sure to get busy very quickly.
