Things have yet to pick up in the new year, as both month-over-month and year-over-year declines have deepened; houses for sale in Toronto fell to 14 transactions, a whopping 84 per cent drop from November and 48 per cent from 2017, while there were no semi-detached sales at all. A total of three townhouses sold, which marks an 86 per cent decrease from last month, but exactly flat from the same week in 2018. Condos also saw significant declines, falling 83 per cent from last month with 23 units sold, coming in 62 per cent below last year’s activity. However, it will be interesting to see if the usual seasonal sales pick up occurs in the coming weeks, as buyers return to the market with renewed resolutions, and sellers opt to relist after the holiday hiatus.
