The people have spoken!
British travel outlet, Rough Guides, asked their readers to vote on the most beautiful countries in the world and Canada came in second. For the second year in a row.
Canada narrowly lost the title to Scotland who also held its position from last year. New Zealand came in third. Italy and South Africa rounded out the top five.
Though we didn’t win the crowning title, multiple Canadian provinces and cities were recognized for both their natural and cultural appeal.
“The Yukon Territory is a place of great wilderness, while B.C. mountains draw skiers and snowboarders in their thousands. The turquoise colours of Lake Louise are an Instagrammer’s delight, while the East Coast cities of Toronto and Montreal charm with their great restaurants and cosmopolitan atmosphere,” the site reads.
Sure, Scotland is stunning, but after reading their review, we can’t help but think Canada should have been number one. After all, Scotland was only chosen for its views and we all know Canada’s got the whole package.
