There two different TTC subway closures to navigate this weekend. The first, on Saturday, is promising to wreak some extra havoc. With 12 stations closed, shuttle buses operating slightly differently at each station, and a confusing mix of Line 1 and Line 2 stations being affected, it’s a doozy.
Luckily, we have the whole breakdown below:
There will be no subway service on Line 1 between Finch West and St George stations on Saturday, December 1 due to signal upgrades.
How To Navigate The Closure:
Shuttle buses will operate. Customers should board and exit shuttle buses as follows:
Shuttles will not enter the station. They will load on Bedford Road and offload on St George Street.
Shuttles will not enter the station. They will load and offload in front of the station.
This station will be closed. Shuttles will load and offload at Dupont Street and Spadina Road.
St Clair West:
Shuttles will not enter the station. They will load and offload at St Clair Avenue West and Bathurst Street.
Shuttles will not enter the station. They will load and offload at Eglinton Avenue West and Bathurst Street.
Shuttles will not enter the station. They will load and offload at Glencairn Avenue and Bathurst Street.
Northbound shuttles will load and offload inside the station. Southbound shuttles will load and offload outside, in front of the station.
Wilson, Sheppard West and Finch West:
Board and exit buses inside the station.
TTC will provide a special shuttle bus to accommodate customers travelling to and from Yorkdale Mall. Customers can transfer between the Line 1 shuttle and the Yorkdale express at Lawrence West Station.
Shuttle buses will bypass this station. Customers can use 84 Sheppard West, 101 Downsview Park, 106 Sentinel and 108 Driftwood buses instead.
How To Pay
If you’re paying with PRESTO during the subway closure just tap your card when you first board the TTC.
If you are transferring from the subway to a shuttle bus or from a shuttle bus to the subway don’t tap your PRESTO card again. Unlike normal subway to bus transfers, shuttle buses do not need a second tap.
Cash and token fares will still be accepted on the shuttle bus, which will get you a transfer onto the subway (and vice versa).
All normal service will resume on Sunday.
