As we approach the busier fall market, the number of sold MLS listings in Toronto and across Greater Toronto Area has started to pick up.

Based on the number of sold properties entered into the MLS system, both detached and semi-detached home sales are up year-over-year in the GTA and in the City of Toronto.


In the City of Toronto, detached house sales saw a 13 per cent jump to 60 from 53 properties, while semi-detached sales increased 19 per cent from the same period last year to 25 from 21 properties.

The GTA saw a similar gain, with sales rising 13 per cent for semi-detached houses to 61 from 54 last year, and 26 per cent for detached houses to 321 from 255.

For condo apartments, the GTA area experienced a small two per cent dip in sales compared to last year, while the City of Toronto saw a decrease of eight per cent.

In the GTA, there were 194 condo apartment sales, and 132 in the City of Toronto during the week of Aug. 8 to 14.
