decline

The demand for homes for sale in Toronto continues to be frosty as the new year progresses. Sales are down steeply on a monthly basis and are also posting declines from early 2018 levels. Detached homes were the only type to see year-over-year improvement. Sales were up 17 per cent with 21 units sold, but down 72 per cent from the same week in December.

Semi-detached home sales plunged 29 per cent year -over-year and 80 per cent monthly. Townhouses were down 20 per cent year-over-year and 83 per cent monthly. Condos saw less of a month-over-month decline, down 66 per cent, though sales still came in 21 per cent weaker than at last year’s levels.
