The best places to work in Canada have been unveiled — and three of the top five places to work in the country are headquartered in Toronto.
According to a recent survey from Indeed, 92 per cent of workers across Canada believe a company’s employer reputation is important when seeking a new job opportunity.
From over 600,000 company reviews and ratings, Indeed has compiled a list of the top-rated workplaces in the country.
The extensive list takes into account five key criteria for the optimal employee experience: work-life balance, salary and benefits, job security and advancement, management and culture.
Toronto is a hotbed of quality companies, including Canada’s top-rated employer Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. Toronto also headquarters several employers on the list, including third-place American Express and TD Bank rounding out the top five.
Fairmont ranks high for culture. Many of its reviewers note this as one of the best aspects of working for the company, in addition to good salary, benefits, job security and advancement.
One reviewer writes, “Every employee is treated with respect. This company has an incomparable way of doing things, not just for the guests but for its workers. Benefits, growth opportunities, job stability, lunch, training… everything you could ever expect from a serious and respectable company, Fairmont has it all.”
While American Express earned high ratings in all categories, the company’s salary and benefits, work-life balance and culture were its highlights.
And in addition to TD Bank’s positive culture, reviewers also appreciated its learning opportunities.
