Toronto police have identified the 10-year-old girl who was killed in the attack. Julianna Kozis of Markham was one of the victims. She was out for ice cream that night.
Her family is asking for privacy while they grieve.
Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti said Markham has been shaken by the senseless act of violence and the city would lower its flags to honour young Julianna.
The other life claimed in the tragic incident was that of Reese Fallon, an 18-year-old who recently graduated from high school. She was preparing to study nursing at Hamilton’s McMaster University this fall.
A fountain in the Alexander the Great Parkette is now one of the main places for people to leave flowers, candles, and messages of hope and support.
Police ask anyone with photos or videos of the Danforth attack to upload them to torontopolice.on.ca/danforthshooting.
